Unlike other companies that use ex-contractors / supervisors, we use ex-IDs that MANAGE projects and have real experience of catching defects.



Home defects is more than just pasting stickers. We generate a full report for you to work with HDB, that is easy for all parties to understand and rectify what is needed.



Being an ex-ID, Uncle knows when fixes done / recommended by HDB / contractors / IDs are acceptable or just temporary. We make sure you dont get cheated.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

We send down a minimum of 2 staff, in the event we have multiple units in your block / estate, we may send up to 3-4 staff as reinforcement to make sure we do not miss out any defects 🙂

Some other defect checking services out there only offer 1 defect inspector, do take note!

We use a felt tip marker to write on the blue painters tape used to mark the defects that are more serious.

Some common markings that are used are as follows:

S = scratch

O = stain

UN = uneven

Ho = hollow tiles

C = chip

D = dent

Sili = silicon

SC = soft closing

For more serious defects such as mechanical issues (cannot close, got sound, difficult open), or rust, silicon and other issues, we write out the defect identified in full on the sticker 🙂

With 2 pax we usually take about 45 min to 1 hour for the defect checking, and about 15 minutes at the end to run through with you the defects identified.

Yes, we will fill up the defects form instead of the photo report so you can drop off the defects form immediately upon completion of the defects inspection session.

Yes, if your condo uses NOVADE, we will fill up NOVADE app instead of the photo report so you can submit immediately upon completion of the defects inspection session.

It is advisable to turn on the water and electricity before we come so we can check the power and water flow (for gradient and leakge) during the inspection.

If you are unable to get these before the inspection, we will use the spirit level to test water gradient for you.

We can help you to turn the water supply on after activation

We have screwdriver with us so you don’t need to bring 🙂

For HDB owners, please collect the 2 copper tap heads from letter box before inspection.

  • Conducting 1st inspection to identify defects in the property
  • Recording defects in developer’s approved format for client’s use
  • Conducting 2nd trip (Handover) inspection after rectification works have been done by the builder

Platinum Package

    • Conducting 1st inspection to identify defects in the property
    • Recording defects in developer’s approved format for client’s use
    • Attending 2nd (Joint) Inspection with client and builder to run through defects before rectification works
    • Conducting 3rd (Handover) inspection after rectification works have been done by the builder
    • Provision of rectification option and cost report for 3rd party contractors for each issue.
